My apologies to Ian31, that's clearly a 94 Explosif, and that makes two that I've seen with no fluting on the down tube. And that white Tange Ultimate sticker is actually a Superlight sticker, the opposite extreme from the Ultrastrong sticker that 94 Explosifs usually had. Logically that would mean it was a lighter frame than standard.

I still say it's a size 19 though!

My eyes are going weird! Some of those last pics show a ribbed downtube and others don't!
Can't argue with the colour or decals though... ;)
Can you do us a favour Ian31? Could you just run your fingers around the downtube and establish whether or not it does or does not have the (in)famous ribs along the downtube? Pics clearly do not speak a thousand words!

I can see ribbing in some too at the h.tube joint..............i had one of these and the ribs stuck out..i saw another that had thicker paint and the ribs were faint..................the sticker is different to the one I had...............interested in Anthony's seeing one without ribs...............perhaps a photo demo model or maybe a pre-batch ???

I have a feeling it's just thick paint...............the frames were a mix of ultra strong/concept/ultralight.............so maybe they got away with putting a sticker on with at least one of the tube types used..............don't think they had a sticker that listed all 3

Here is a picture of the standard fluting, which is quite noticeable and I think clearly missing from Ian31's example, and also a picture of the standard Tange sticker, which is clearly different from Ian31's.

The Tange sticker has to be true of the tube it is attached to.

If the sticker has to be true to the tube that is stuck to.................then why does it say 'ultrastrong' and not 'concept' which is what that seat tube is made of............top tube being 'ultra light' only the down tube is 'ultrastrong ??? or is 'ultrastrong classed as a combination of tubes ???

I believe that the seat tube of the 93 Explosif was Concept, and it consequently had a Concept sticker, but I have always assumed that the Ultrastrong sticker on the 94 Explosif meant that the seat tube was changed to Ultrastrong for 94. Except on Ian31's bike apparently, which must have a Superlight seat tube.

Not that there's any apparent difference in specification between the three!
