Recycling bins

I see TV adverts for companies that take your rubbish away,no recycling necessary ,costs of course.

You can rent a sub-let council flat, but thats illegal,or beat queue's in the hospital, again by paying.

All involve you circumnavigating the set rules.

Difference :?

Our local recycling rules include this gem - you can recycle paper but not shredded paper!!!

Recycling does my head in - encourage people to recycle as much as possible - yep, we do that, - but we'll only pick it up fortnightly, well that's bollocks. We are lucky in the fact that we only have one bin for all the recycling, my parents have alternate glass/plastic and paper/card weeks, that would make my blood boil.

Also remember stuff getting sent abroad is perfectly reasonable as it's returning materials to where they are needed most, as opposed to producing brand new materials. And as someone who's lived reasonably close to a landfill site in the past, it aint nice!!!! Think of the ripest drain you've ever smelt covering a few thousand square metres of lovely Sussex countryside and you'll get my drift.....wafty...

The last people I would ever threaten are the bin men.

Those wagons can do all sorts of damage to a motor.

Salt of the earth dudes here, they are really helpful and do loads for charity.

:)

we have 7 bins
1 green for cans and metalic waste , one green one for plastic
1 black one for paper and 1 black one for cardboard
2 brown ones one for garden/ organic waste the other for food waste
and finally a little blue one for "landfill" waste

but our council won some award for re-cycling so thats okay
