Hope this is right place. I was tasked (as the family bikey) to find Mother in law an old fashioned
ladies bike to replace her 3 y/o steel one which weighed about 2 tons.
Found it difficult initially to find an ally frame (for the weight), quality build and low frame height without spending twice the budget.
Anyway I happened across the Ridgeback Avenida 6, got it for around £300. Does the job perfectly, nicely built, very light (for a ladies bike), looks pretty (so she's happy). So before wasting your money on a Pendleton of similar cast iron tank that looks pretty but is thrown together I'd give one of these a test drive (and it takes a lot to impress me with modern bikes !).
