I need to get a wheel with CK hub rebuilt from radial lace to other!

Could someone recommend someone to do this for me please? West Berks area if poss.

Or should I just take it to my LBS (Pedal-On) Tadley?

Cheers

You! I'm sure you can find a good step-by-step online and when you're finished you'll think "well that wasn't so bad, sort of fun actually" :D

bought a minoura to do that (I am afraid the Parktool TS-2 is a bit expensive) and yes it is not that difficult ;)
you just need patience and method

just bought a tensioner as thats probably the main tricky thing

problem is now I have got too many set of wheels as I am refurbishing old ones

Question-Is the wheel a racelite from 98-99 like the one ive just sold?

I wanted to relace it from radial to 2x,but thought it might be a problem,so i mailed Chris King
This is their reply
[Keeping in mind they are referring to the 98-98 racelite front wheel]

Hi Andrew,

Here is our reply from tech. While those flanges are designed thicker with the ability to radial lace, it is best to have that force distributed across the flange (i.e. Heads in elbows out) vs. Heads out, where the force is directly pulling up and in, where there is less material. The later, may be more aero and better for clearance, but it is a weaker wheel, and may cause undue stress, on an older hub like that. I wouldn't recommend it, even though it may temporarily solve the problem.

Best,

I emailed CK too, with the hub model code, they advised a re-build.

Cheers
