I need a new sleeping bag as the zip has gone on mine.
Any bargains to be had out there?
I would have thought £20 should get me something ok, just for spring and summer use ;)

Any thing by RAB. Very good but I know thats out the 20£ range.
For that kind of money probably best at a camping outlet which would do.

Both really, not too fussed about weight. Would rather have a rectangular one rather than a mummy type.
Not sure if they are still easy to come by?

Vango. The last one I had lasted me a hell of a long time. I believe they do 2 season bags at £20-30.

BUT BUT.....in the UK you want a 3 season minimum for outdoors in my opinion. Unless you can predict the weather better than the Met Office that is :D

Dont skimp on a sleeping bag unless you're using it inside a house. You'll regret it eventually.

Other brands (over budget), RAB (as already said), The North Face and Mountain Equipment.

Just my 2p :)

PS. Mummy bags are that shape because they insulate far better than rectangular. If this is for camping, you really really want a mummy bag. They are comfortable if you get the right one. If I overheat on a warm night, I unzip the lower half and slide my leg out to keep cool.

Oh, one thing if you do decide to buy from Go Outdoors.

The prices in the shop are higher unless you buy a discount card, which costs £4 or is valid for a year. But the discounted prices in the shop are the same as what you get from the website without a card.

Irritating.
