Recently finished very large scale Avro Lancaster model

Thanks! I've been making Lancasters for 35 odd years now, so got the touch in making them look right, the average life of a Lancaster was a week, so weathering one with a mass of chipping & filth everywhere and looking like a Tank is wrong, unless it was a kite that had flown plenty of sorties.
I wonder if that could be modded into a Manchester? Beyond my skills but maybe not yours.

You'd struggle to make it into a Manchester from this kit because of the 'canning' on the wings, chopping up & shorting the wings & making new nacelles will throw problems straight at you, you'd have to try a replicate the 'canning' on the scratch made parts, there's another big 1/32nd Lanc' kit out there which has no 'canning' so this kit would be more suited to it, there's a friend making a 1/32nd Manchester, been at it for yonks.

Do know of the large scale planes forum? That looks very good. It will be impressive when finished.

The forerunner it was a bit of a dog, interesting aircraft though. The RR Vulture engines were unreliable.
The old guy to the left of me was a 49 sqd RAF Veteran called Fred Hall, he's since passed away now, the stories he told me about flying Manchesters was unbelievable, he said you hear the horrible stories about the Manchester, most where true but limited only to a few Manchester kites, he said a Manchester fully laden up with bombs had to use the full runway to get off the ground, when it was up in the air it handled like a fighter, he even told me he barrel rolled such kites, he flew dozens of sorties and his kite never suffered with any failures, because of that he was apprehensive when the Lanc' came by, we're losing our greatest and bravest generation now.
