Wanted Reccomendations on a step through frameset

Building up a commuter bike for my mate and wanna grab a frameset thats like a late 80s early 90s step through/mixte. They are pretty short so something that came in a 15inch

Im in no rush so just looking for reccomendations on what what to look out for on the various sites I trawl. Brands, makes, models. Itd be great if it was of a somewhat decent tubing although im not sure how common that was for step through frames. Ive seen step through hard rocks before something in that world would be perfect.

cheers

Any reason why you need a step through rather than just a smaller frame. Step through are inherently weaker (something to do with triangles) and usually heavier. Muddy Fox did a half decent step through frame late 80s

If you consider modern bikes you can check out for the Specialized Sirrus Step series of bikes.

The 2022 EQ Step should have everything for a commuter bike.

For retroframes you can look for Kuwahara and or Trek Multitrack frames from the early 90's.

Not a true mixte due to the single top tube, but I want one nonetheless
