Really silly question.......

Continuously undoing the top cap, and stem bolts is not going to be good for the thing. Realigning and tensioning the headset takes time and will be far more hassle than getting a wheel off, get a hook to hook the wheel on once off the bike or place in on the handlebars OR get a better style of hanger ;)

As for tools, stick Velcro tape to it and put a Velcro pad on the wall. Then you'll know where they are.
OR
put a small pit box on the wall
OR
a shelf ;)

PS all pedals fit; flats, SPD´s, eggbeaters, candies etc. I use an L bracket to support the front wheel so it doesn't slide, but other solutions will work. At my LBS they use some kind of rubber bumpers for the front wheel to rest on. Whatever is neatest and cheapest...

I like that - paint that bracket the same colour as the wall and it would look even cooler!

Super idea! I think I still have some paint left over in storage. :D

I hang my bikes up in my shed - I just take the front wheel off to make it stay flat. Halfrauds have got some bike hooks for £2.99 iirc and depending on your frame you should be able to hang the wheel on the bike hook as well.

because, you are missing the point. then i'd have to find somewhere to hang a wheel too!

Will just keep an allen key to hand. I did try and explain how it was an idea to not have to keep tools around lol.

Thanks you anyhow :)

Paul, where did you get those from? they look pretty useful!

Tie the allen key to a length of string attached to your wall hanger bracket, that way it's always there ;)

It might also be less hastle to undo the front cap on the stem and drop the bars. I know i would rather re-align my bars everytime rather than re-tension the headset, but then agin, i would rather do neither

I wouldnt fully trust quick releases on the stem.
Apart from the fact it would look bonkers and if you explained why, folk'd think you're bonkers    ;)
