Just a heads up for those who enjoy the spectacle of organised motorcycle racing on the Queens highway - the North West 200 starts this week with two races on Thursday night and five races on Saturday . As usual, live coverage of the racing will be shown on the BBC NI website with highlight shows on BBC NI and iPlayer on Sunday and Monday night. I have Thursday booked off work so I'll be there (weather permitting) to see how Jeremy McWilliams gets on in his first ever road race. Should be interesting....

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous and I have to admit that some of the riders probably look upon the NW200 as a warm up for the TT, even though the NW is the largest sporting event in the UK and Ireland

I've never been to the TT or even the IOM for that matter. I quite fancy a trip to the Manx GP, as much for the racing as the opportunity the drive or ride round the circuit. I sometimes ride the roads that make up the Ulster GP circuit and it puts it into perspective how fast these guys go when you see the on board footage and they take 'my' 60mph bends at 120mph+ :shock: . I watched the Cookstown 100 on Eurosport on Sunday morning

it puts it into perspective how fast these guys go when you see the on board footage and they take 'my' 60mph bends at 120mph+ :shock: . Here's a fine example of the difference between a racer and a bunch of guys who probably think they are quick

Oh yes, it's an incredible difference!
