This afternoon I went very fast on my Strada. It is for sure the most silent bike I've ever ridden. I could hear the electricity streaming in my little Knox light

There is a link to the Chris Chance build thread below in my signature (and HERE), and very soon there will be some lovely new pics added to the thread ... we had a very nice inaugural ride of 2012. After eight years in Connecticut, it is nice to finally live somewhere without winter.

I'd be enormously pleased to get bike of the year, but truth be told, this bike is already bike of the decade for me And not in the least because it occasioned an email exchange with Chris Chance!

When I was building up the frame I did some sleuthing and found his listing at the massage place in NorCal. Maybe around May last year?

I asked about where the champion stripes in his logo came from, and how many road bikes he made for the handful of years that he built solo before starting Fat City Cycles. I also attached pics of the frame mid-build with some gushing about how Fat City was what got me really into bikes way back when.

He didn't address the questions per se, but he wrote back with really gracious and positive note about bikes and the fact that he was glad to see the pics and glad that one of his old old frames found its way to someone who appreciated it. Totally made my month
