I guess that's because manufacturers charge what the market can stand; I went to buy a garmin mount for the missus in a LBS, a 10cent plastic widget that clamps on the bars with a 3mm allen screw and a twist lock cradle for the Garmin, then I saw the price £35!!! are you f******* kidding??? got one on Ebay for 2.99 ... and so it goes
