Oh man, a Rare Gem too.

youre right, he should advertise those solid axles as a feature, good for dirt jumping. plus that article says it weighs 16kg, good for downhill too. a versatile machine indeed.

tbh if it was local enough id pay 99p for the forks and freewheel

I guess you could pass them off as quality retro items on ebay and earn a few bob for sure. ;)

at the risk of another flame war, ive seen more zinn 753s than '85 peugeot alpine expresses

the seller didnt so himself any favours, you know how it is; when can i collect? "come round any time!" ok how about thursday night? "oh no cant do thursday" etc etc and like i say he had no other interest.

The whole point of RB is to document the history of all terrain cycling regardless of the name on the downtube. The French were very quick to the market even if they were mass produced.

Thanks for the extra information catf. I'm amongst those who like the 80s and 90s French frames and I'd happily have this as a project if I had the space.

Agreed.

I particularly like the Peugeots, of the Gould and Baker Era.

Just a shame they weren't any good, and were replaced with proper frames.

But that's a whole different story.
