RALEIGH SBDU 753 DYNAFLITE.... 'Race Special No7'

Those quirky mech’s were really odd partners in the Mistral group set as they don’t really complement the chainset at all stylistically. The Premier derailleur suits it perfectly though; beautifully built with the exact same blasted/satin finish..

For 1983 Raleigh America offered the top of the range Connoisseur 753 Limited Edition. With a run of just 100 it had an odd mix of some of the best components available. Never seen one other than the catalogue pictures which don't do it any favours with the saddle too low, front wheel the wrong way round and black background...😱

By 1984 the drug fuelled photo shoots had become legendary in the cycle world with all of the major manufacturers using the Raleigh America catalogues as a marketing guide on how not to setup and present a bicycle. With seats low, stem's high, weird bar tilt, skewers in the wrong side and f***ing great big lumps of plastic on the ends of the bars things were really getting out of control...🍄🤪
