why did allot of bike company's in the late 80s make more bikes with such huge frames than smaller sizes :?:

Ahh. I remember it well...

Sizing: Despite only being around 14 when I got mine, a 21" frame was specified by the shop! (I'm 6ft and ride 19").

Performance: Complete junk. The forks bent and the U brake bosses dropped off! The wheels were rubbish. The Suntour gears were 5 or 6x3 and amazing compared with the £150 Mustang purple junk fest.

This guys only selling as the frame is out of the 15 year warranty

I'm pretty sure those are the original tyres (also junk)....

Still loved the Montage though!

I was riding a 22" MTB at age 12...

In the 80s everything had a horizontal top tube and so looks/measures far bigger than they really are. Just pretend the top 2 inches of seat tube are seat post instead of frame.
