raleigh mavericks (yes mavericks not maverick)

I had a maverick in 87 I think. It was
Metallic grey with yellow decals (could be looked at as blue I suppose) and looked pretty identical to the op's bike apart from colour. Actually, on closer inspection it was nothing like it. Mine had triple chainset, no pump lugs, unicrown fork, etc. Not sure what the above bike is.

I know there was a 5 speed version that seemed to be a lot lower spec. I loved my 15 gear bike. It was fairly decent in a Raleigh type of way.

First ever MTB I seen and had a go on was a Raleigh Metropolitan in maroon like the ones shown in 1985. That bike was a revelation to me, i wonder if my pal of the time still has it :?
