I've been fixing (/pimping) up my old M-Trax Ti1000. Sanded it down to remove the scratches and stuff, then painted it metallic purple. Was supposed to be more blue looking but I think it came out ok in the end.I mainly like working on road bikes and they always end up looking quite serious, so this one was a bit colourful just for a bit of fun really!

Compared to modern bikes it's not the best, but it's the largest size they did and it's only 11kg as you see it in the picture, so it's not too bad. Originally I was going to restore it and it's original parts, but then decided to go for the convenience of modern bits (easy to find!) as some parts were worn out. Just waiting for some new pedals and skewers to arrive then I'm all done! Oh and I want some decals to put on at some point.

Re:

Once you get over the initial shock  of the colours it is a very nice bike and should ride very well (even if you are 7ft  ) ;) :D

Re:

Not too sure about the red bits, but I like the purple. :D

What do you think of the Mavic Crossride wheels, any good?

Re:

Could be right about there being a bit too much red. I'm also thinking of taking off the bar ends, haven't had them on before and I don't think I really like them.

Can't fault the wheels, but then this bike is just a commuting hack so it only stays on roads, gravel tracks, bridleways etc.

Apart from the pedals that's alright! Quite like it.

Think the chainset is ugly though - looks cheap even though its not. I'd probably polish it all silver.

Re:

This one is a 19.5".

Just fitted some T780 pedals and hex bolt skewers so it's my perfect commuting bike now :-D

Re:

Here's my Ti-1000 earlier this year. Modern XT groupset, SID Race forks, Hope stem, handbuilt XT/XC717 wheels.
