Recently I requested information about my bike but was unable to upload a picture of it at the time. Well, assuming I haven't blundered, here it is. I am asking if there is an ex-Raleigh employee, someone in the cycle trade or a knowledgeable enthusiast who can tell me what name Raleigh allocated to the bike, when it was manufactured, how many were made and anything else that would be of interest please ? As I mentioned before I have been unable to find any information on the internet which suggests that it may have been one from a Raleigh project that was abandoned. The bike appears much as it would have done when it was new with original paint and almost all of the original parts. Some decals remain largely intact but the 'M-TRAX' decals have been replaced. Obviously consumable items have also been changed over time. It is in very good mechanical condition and has 24 speed Shimano drive and brake parts and RockShox Indy C forks and rear suspension unit. The frame and rear triangle are in aluminium alloy. The bike's serial number ends in '0007' which suggests it was possibly from an early production batch, or even pre-production. My best guess is that it was manufactured around 1994/5.

It's an RSP Pro-Line M-trax 400.
The frame was used in a few different colours and specs.

Made in Taiwan by A-pro for Raleigh Special Products 1997-2001, it was the 7005 aluminium version of the earlier 853 steel frame.

All the best,
Excellent ! Thank you very much indeed for the information. Are you able to tell me if many were made, why they were discontinued and what one in nice condition would be worth for insurance purposes please ?

Sorry, I'm not Raleigh expert, so can't really help with that.
You can post a request for information on the '98 onwards section.

Also, if you post a short thread revival on some of the threads that I linked to, that should poke a few Raleigh experts out of the woodwork.

All the best,

Thank you again for your help. Greatly appreciated. At least I know what the bike is and I think I will call it a day at that.
Best regards.
