Raleigh Lizard - refurbed

Retro Newbie
I operate a small community cycle workshop in rural Scotland. We take in bikes to be refurbished and resold (as well as fix modern bikes, teach bike maintenance, and more). Several classic bikes have already come through the door, and in repairable condition. Here's one of the first interesting bikes that we refurbished.

Stripped the bike down to the frame, cleaned all components and regreased bearings. New cables. And had to put on some new tyres so went with a pair of Schwalbe Billy Bonkers.

It's an absolute dream to ride.

My first mtb(of a kind) in 1988...many happy memories and due to the mahooooosive weight I quickly became a strong rider🤣

these were always a pretty bike, even as the mk 3 maveric. I just couldn't get away from those rear stays though!
