Raleigh Head Tube Badge

I've just realised this thread is in the wrong forum - I meant to put it in the retro-road section, not the For sale section - apologies...

Take the forks off and file the rivet heads off from the inside :).

Shaun

Edit, just seen the pic. Looks like glue holding it on. Hairdryer and dental floss / nylon fishing line maybe.

No, they are not glued on, if you try to get it off from the front it will bend. They are held in with two stud like bits on the back of the badge that go into the frame and are then flattened from inside the frame. A bit like rivots but attached to the badge.

Take forks out and knock the backs off with a large flat head. The badge will then fall off but you will be left with the locating studs on the back. Then you can just glue it back on.

I use 3M double sided foam tape instead of glue. Apply it to the rear of the badge and trim with a craft knife before fitting to the frame.

The tape is only a quid delivered from Hong Kong as well...

Thanks Maca - that's exactly what I was seeing inside the head tube.
I'll try to get it removed over the next week or so...
