So this weekend I picked up my wheels from Pedalon (http://www.pedalon.co.uk) They are a great bunch of guys, very knowledgeable and helpful. They trued my wheels for me (much needed) and I picked up a couple more needed items.
I also received a few items in the post. Pedals, water bottle and some self adhesive VHB tape for the front badge.
Mistake 1: Pedals don't fit, as I ordered a set with a 1/2" thread and mine is 9/16". Schoolboy error... I hate imperial threads! I will have to sell them and buy another set. Let me know if you have a mint set of pedals like the ones below for sale!
New VS old:
Shiny badge:
Not sure if this water bottle suits, but can always find something better! The cage is from the 80's though:
Bonus: I found a retro Raleigh racer for my 9 year old son online, going to see it tomorrow. £25, looks in good nick. I will now get him training for Eroica Britannia next year, really can't wait! Is there a Retrobike.co.uk team at all?
Mistake 2: Drove to Basingstoke nut and bolt to buy some new flange nuts, but they were shut! Check google first!
Mistake 3: Chase the powder coaters! They are re-painting my front forks and stem, because they didn't do them properly. Was promised them this weekend, but it will now be next week. Gutted, because everything else is now built and ready to fit the front wheel.
