Why not put both up for sale and let the market decide? Whichever goes first means you keep the other and the decision is out of your hands.

Good decision!@one_bad_mofo
In theory that sounds a sensible idea.
Practicality however means that if I want to achieve the price I'd like - selling as a parts split will be the only way of getting this. I doubt there's very few buyers out the willing to pay £1600 for a Dynatech....and I'd need to decide which to split as I want to keep one.
Fortunately ....a weekend away and time to mull over the comments, I think a decision has been made.
#1 has the paint originality - and a virtually complete catalogue spec. It wouldn't take much to just change the bullet shifters out for thumbies if it were to actually be ridden.
In fact.....the only reason I'm in this Dilemma was that I acquired and restored a 2nd on the strength it needed to be restored to the condition of #1
Basically.....#2 is a recreation of #1
Keep #1 and part out #2 - original harmony restored.
Thanks for all the options and opinions of the collective. It's certainly helped with making a decision.
Cheers all.

Switch the saddles from #2 to #1 - definitely the rubber handled levers on original spec.Good decision!
Spare thumbies and double check specs on the wheel QRs - whether they were just the chrome QRs or the rubber coated ones.
