Hi all.

I've been deliberating this one for a while but still unsure what I should do - so I thought I'd put it to the collective.

I currently have a dozen retro. Most of these are display rather than riders. I'm out of space to take on any more projects, so a sensible option would be to sell a couple.
They are all my favourites though and there are some that I definitely won't part with. So....

Some of these are duplicates. The most obvious are the Dynatech Endeavours of the collection.
I want to keep one as they are a rare bird, but which one?

Endeavour #1
Original factory decals and main tube paint ( the rear triangle had a colour matched respray)
Completely catalogue Campagnolo spec from the Bullet shifters to the Electa saddle. Full Centaur groupset including pedals and seatpost.
NOS Campagnolo wheels and Tioga wonderdawg tyres.

Endeavour #2
Full bare metal respray in colour matched paint and reproduction decals. (From my Dynatech thread, the colours for this flagship model all differ slightly in their colour ways)
Full Campagnolo Centaur groupset including all the hard to find bits such as the Electa saddle, pedals, seatpost. This has the grey levers and thumb shifters instead of Catalogue spec bullet shifters. Wheels are NOS Campagnolo with Tioga wonderdawgs.

So. What to do?
- which one would you keep and which one would go?
- what would be your rationale/ criteria to keep a particular one?

I've narrowed it down to one of these 2 as I don't want to part with anything else.
Interested in what the collective thinks.

Cheers

ive got 4 Dyna-techs here at the moment and I can say, its better to have to many, than to little, because you can guarantee that the one you think you don't want, is the one you`ll regret getting rid of, just got back my maverick after 7 years and think more of that, than any of my other bikes, apart from my ogre xce which I had new as well. all the others could go tomorrow. I think its the ones with most attachment, you treasure more.

Would it be an option to make 1 best version of the 2 (with your preferred frame and components) and sell on the other one?

I’d keep #1 as the originality is quite a significant factor IMHO. But as @JCS says if there are any parts you prefer on #2 swap them over first

Well Raleigh had to replace loads of owners Bullet shifters with thumbies because they didn’t work. My missus got Centaur ones and I got Record OR for our Voyagers (sale bikes in ‘92). I bet lots of Endeavours received the upgrade too.
