Raleigh Dynaflite SBDU 753.... 'Manager Special'

Changing to the Brooks B17 has added about ½lb to the bike now coming in at 20½lbs or 9.3kg in new money...🙂

Those concrete fence posts should see me out..😂

The original mudguards have cleaned up really well with no damage just some light corrosion to the stays which came off with WD40 & wire wool. They look like stock Raleigh items with narrow 35mm ESGE Chromoplastic blades, Sturmey Archer reflector and stays with crimped ends that retain the eye bolts to speed up assembly on the production line...

That table’s only original once! 🤣

Found a little more information on the Trade Talk page in the comic about Raleigh's boost in sales from the bikes original owner Ian Phillips...👍

Now at last the Dynaflite is finally finished, back to it's original condition as it was presented to Ti Raleigh Industries Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Ian Phillips. The bike was designed and built by Ian's good friend and Manager of the Specialist Bicycle Development Unit at Ilkeston Derby Gerald O'Donovan along with his dedicated team. The bike was built to say thank you for Ian's help, support and commitment to the Team behind the Team Ti Raleigh achieving the ultimate accolade.. winning the worlds toughest cycle race... The Tour de France in July 1980 with Joop Zoetemelk on a machine built by the SBDU...🙂
