guys, can anybody remember, what was the factory option in the catalogue on rockshox forks on a 1993 Dynatech M-trax 500? I'm leaning towards quadra or Judy. I don't think they fitted mag 21`s until 94 with the ahead, 93 had the 1 1/8 quill. Any ideas @mtbkez?

I can't remember a suspension fork option for the '93 Mtrax range, but I would of thought a rockshox mag 30 as Raleigh were using these on the Summit and the Dynatech Diablo rs that year.

I just had a quick look at the 1993 catalogue and it does look like the Dynatech Diablo RS is the only model equipped in that year with suspension & these were indeed MAG 30's.. on a side note the Ogre XT colour looks ugly in the 93 catalogue, I would like to see a red one in the flesh... lol

I'm not sure the frames were suspension corrected. If they were it was for a very small amount of travel. I put an 80mm travel Magura fork (so stiff) on an MTrax 500 and it tipped the geometry back quite a bit, making the handling 'interesting'. If I was to do it again I'd be looking at no more than 50mm travel.

I don't recall ever seeing a 1993 M Trax with suspension as an option, but I reckon if you'd asked they'd have specced an RS Quadra or an RS Mag 21 (?) or a PACE RC35. I always assumed the fact that their racing team, and some top end models, used front suspension meant the frames were at least nominally suspension corrected. Raleigh and especially the Special Products Division were among the best when it came to getting geometry right, and despite Raleigh's image of being about kids bikes or bikes for uncool adults, they were very forward looking when it came to this kind of thing.

In 95 or 96 I fitted an RS Q 21R to my M Trax 400 which had a lot of travel for an XC fork at the time, and didn't notice the geometry go funny.
