Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

I’d guess it’s a Mission with the lugs and rear triangle painted black? What’s the tubing number on the sticker at the base of the seat tube? Missions are 2070
Thanks, I found a catalogue and it looks like the mission...however mine has a 2060 sticker. I wonder if it's been repainted at some point and had an incorrect sticker put on it.

2060 could be Encounter or Voyager but those are Mission forks on it for sure.

I’m no expert, I’ve found that with the era of Raleigh bikes that were still being made in the UK that anything was possible.

It's possible it was a warranty replacement for a 2060 frame where they used a 2070 frame (because that's all they had available) but put the original model decals on it, there's a few examples on here of similar. I remember at least one warranty replacement/repaired frame processed through the shop I worked in bitd that was only offered as a single colour respray from Raleigh.

Thanks, that's interesting...and the black paint seems consistent across the whole frame and fork which fits the theory.

My new project 91 Odyssey.
Some of you may know the bike, it was listed on here, a few days ago.

I actually bid on it via ebay, was paid for and then immediately refunded, due to some miscommunication.

However all good in the end, many thanks to Chris, (CBM) for allowing me to become the new owner. 🥰 I owned one back in 93, purchased from my brother, which was unfortunately stolen 5 months afterwards 😔😔

The story goes (please correct me if incorrect CBM) apparently Chris's father owned the bike practically from new, and has been in his dads garage ever since, I believe that's correct 🤔

Its yearning for a complete strip down, a thourough clean of all parts, and changing to period correct gumwall's, however all parts seem to have hardly any wear at all, and a good helping of oil/grease?, has seemed to have protected it all these years👍👍

Heres how I received it, unfortunately mudflaps had to go immediately.

Seatpost is free, albeit very tight, looks completely original except for the grips, the saddle is surprisingly in very good condition, with some great patina!
I've already ordered some period Odi attacks, and have a pair of used Ritchey Z-max's which will make it better IMO.

Unfortunately there are some rust spots, mainly on the forks, which will be rectified.

Hopefully will bring it to the Malverns classic. Along with a few more bike, later this month 🙏🙏

Watch this space! All comments welcome 😊😊
