Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

OK, I'll add updates on my quest for Dynatech jerseys to this thread, hopefully this week I'll be able to report something positive.

Re:

Lockdown induced boredom & eBay are a dangerous combination.....

Bought this 1992 Quantum yesterday afternoon & should arrive by the end of the week :D

Is it a member's on here? - not seen it in the for sale section

Looks like it just needs a good clean & polish & the MAG 20 lowers stripping & re-painting.
Not sure if the Uno stem is correct?

Nearly got all the Dynatech models I want, just after 2 more (ok maybe 4):

1. 1992 Ogre (purple), had a stunning one 8 years ago but was too small so sold it to a member in Germany
2. 1993 Hybrid XC80
3. 1992 Diablo DX (yellow) already got a 1993 Diablo DX Plus (white)
4. 1991 / 1992 in Team blue & yellow

Anyone heard from Bikemeister2000 ?

Steve is all well and good, lives not far from me and whilst not spoken to him personally in a bit, he's still active daily on the old FB, shall I pop him a message to get him back on board?

Caramba Kid, nice collection... had to double check that some of my Raleigh stash (below signature) had not been raided with your latest posts haha! I might have to get the whole collection out in the nice weather this week for a complete group collection haha

Thanks Tomas !
He helped me identify a frame last year - but it was a PM he responded to. I’ve since built my RSP 400 up to a very nice spec and enjoying it immensely.
And very very beautiful set of Dynatechs you have there my friend, very impressive - and I second that - especially the last one

Re:

Great to see this thread updated with new pics of collections and new acquisitions. Thought id add my '91 Endeavour that's nearly complete.
Just the bullet shifters to sort and campagnol crank caps and pedals to source.

Frame # BO5078

Very nice collection mate :D

What's the purple one? it's not in the 1992 or 1993 Dynatech catalogues :?

The Endeavour is a really classy looker. Looks like a catalogue shoot. Well done.

Thanks. That colour scheme certainly looks better in the metal though!
As for a catalogue pic..... The pictures were just taken in the garden against a white wall. The ones with the shadows cast were when the sun was out!

This has to be the place to ask.
I'd heard that there were very few Endeavour's sold in this Catalogue colour way. On theory was that at £1,395.....you could spec the team colours for £40 more. When you were dropping that amount of cash on a top end Dynatech, I suppose that bit extra to look like a team rider was nothing at that price. Any truth in the rumour?

The magazine review (check out my build thread) suggests avoiding the Endeavour and going for the XT mission with your own choice of suspension. That could also account for why there are so few Endeavours.

Interestingly, Adrian's team 2070 is exactly the same frame as the Endeavour. Mine is also has its original 2070 sticker and has no rack/mudguard eyelets on the rear stays. The team seems essentially the same bike but with Suntour instead of Campagnolo.
Were the majority of Endeavours repainted and sold as these 2070 team bikes after the unfavourable reviews?

Thanks.
Enjoying a revisit to this thread. Passes some lock down time!

Cheers.
