Raleigh Chopper MK2 - you'll never see a worse one...ever!

Sadly quite tricky due to longer wheelbase and your arms are quite outstretched due to the extra length of the frame.

MK1's were the best due to the straight seat stays that put more weight over the back wheel.

You'll see that on MK2's they added the curve at the base of them to bring the weight further forward to help prevent wheelies and also meant saddle was shorter to help prevent you giving your mate a backie! Plus they introduced the brazed/fixed bar & stem to prevent issues they had with the MK1 where the bars twisted around in the clamp when you did jumps etc.
Thanks for sharing the information and that's interesting to know. I had a MK2 given to me in 1982 by my folks. Dad got it off a bloke he worked with and it was in bits. My dad sprayed the frame Vista orange (a MK1 ford escort Mexico colour) and the guards white. He welded a crossbar to the handlebars and sprayed the bars black. I wanted a BMX and my Dad thought adding the crossbar gave a sought of resemblance to a BMX handlebar. Now you mentioned the twisting of the bars on the MK1, this addition was probably a good safety upgrade! Dad always said this was to give it more strength, but little me didn't know about twisting of metal and forces! I got my BMX for Xmas in 1984 and the chopper was left in the shed and occasionally came out when the local river flooded over the footpath for some wet fun! The chopper was rusting away and Dad took it to the local tip in 1990. A few months later, I saw a lad ride past my house with an almost identical orange and black chopper, but without the mudguards. What are the chances it was the same bike?

25 bidders, 1 hour still to go, current high bid is £87.00.
523 watchers (now 524 🤭)

So at least a couple of folks have some plans for this bike. I hope we get to see the most epic restoration ever undertaken.
For safety reasons, I can't see this as being anything other than wall art, but in any case I'd like to see the final product.
All that said, I call dibs on the seatpost if seller decides to split.

Maybe same person who has bid on the Bentley Continental that the seller is also getting rid of...talk about a range of goods!

another one from the same seller, same photos....🤔

Hmm they didn't bother to make a new advert either, still has this at the bottom:
I have been told it’s definitely a Mark 2 as it has a parcel rack it won’t let me change the main description, but I could put this in
