Raleigh Castorama v Mercian Pro Lugless

One of these frames has to go. Unfortunately I am now on a one in, one out policy!!

So which one goes? 1989 Mercian Pro Lugless in 653 (RBoTM winner) or the 1990 Raleigh Castorama team frame, ex Thierry Marie (RBoTY winner).

Re:

I'd keep the Mercian, the Raleigh might bring in more cash. Crappy choice to have to make though :(

Depends if you want to finish with the nicer/rarer bike. Or with more money.........

Re:

A real Hobsons choice.

I assume the Raleigh is a Cyfac? If you do decide to let it go I would be interested.

Re:

If it was my choice the ex-pro frame would win. Surely harder to come by than a Mercian although the pro lugless is pretty rare itself I guess.

A tough choice to make.

Mark.

What are you going to replace it with?

I would love a titanium Raleigh. One just went on Ebay for £670, which is way out of my budget. Not the one with the fat down tube, the more traditional looking frame.

Oh yes, a track bike as well as starting accreditation at Derby velodrome this Fri!!

Which one do you prefer to ride?

They are very different, but both great in their own way.

Pro Lugless very twitchy, Casto very forgiving (spring classics geometry)
