I saw that on Ebay, and actually asked the seller if it was his from new as I was thinking it should be 653. He did say that it was his uncles (or similar) who owned it from new, and that it was original. It looks like a Raleigh (lugs, fork crown etc), but it's unusual not to have any frame number.

Yes it was an ebay whim that I couldnt really afford but this pic sold it to me. Luckily it all polished up as well as I hoped!
Everything but the chrome taper nut on the brake spindle. Are these nuts still available?

I think you got a bargain mate, some good quality parts on a good frame.

The finish was pearl, I had one myself in 653 which I stupidly sold. Been wanting a replacement ever since, but nothing seems to crop up in 21 or 21.5"

Get some pics up in readers bikes when it's done!

Mercian have some Campag bits and bobs, might be worth contacting them for the coned nut.
