I've been raking in the junkpile behind the shed today as i was looking for bits for my DB Ascent and went off on a tangent looking at some bits i've picked up - first is a Raleigh Avalanche - can anyone tell me much about this - I think its late 90's. I do have the forks but some twat has put sus forks on that are for a 24" wheel :?

The next is a frame that had been entirely badly sprayed black but i noticed some dayglo paint underneath so after a bit of rubbing with a brillo pad it turns out its an Emmelle Californian

I did a bit of googling and came up with this -

Am i right in assuming that due to the fab colours its late 80's early 90's and most probably crap?

and the last one to me looks like some cheapo supermarket cack but thought i'd pick the collective brains on here anyway

is it crap as i suspect and only due it's final trip to the tip?

The DB is now in a state of dismantlement on the kitchen floor (its warmer in here) and once gunked, the chain set, deraillers etc will be going into the dishwasher (the benefits of singledaddom - no one to whinge at me :D )

As you've already guessed its all crap and thats coming from someone who likes the cheaper end of biking  Emmelle is 90's, others are late 90's. By the way, what size is the Emmelle, might make a good pub bike for someone.....me maybe

By the way welcome to the world of Retrobike and please feel free to stick your head round the door at MacRetro, Scotlands area group sub forum.

We've got a meet at Carron Valley planned for this Sunday if you'd like an off road trail centre blast ;)

Welcome to Retrobike.

I would put it all back pehind the shed and let nature to run its course and absorb the inevitable corrosion back in to the soil.

crappy frame in the tip pile, raleigh is getting forks put back on as i might get a tenner for it :D and i'll check emmelle size in the morning - i'd much rather anything went where it might get used.
