Got this bike today £20 was fully serviced last year don't know what year it is would anyone be able to help identify the year please

I'd guess around 92. There schould be date codes on the shimano parts. That could be a hint, also.

Canti's and a quill stem would put it early 90's - 92-94 most likely.

Thought I'd share an update with the bike I've changed the Handel bar grips to Boardman grips, would anyone know if the Shimano Atlus c10 can be used with vbrake?

You can use V-Brakes, but the feeling will be very very spongy.
I'd just use some nice koolstop pads and aftermarket cablehangers (so you can align them canties properly). Should be enough braking power.
