Raleigh 753 - all by SBDU?

Ohh! Some nice kit there :)

I see the Raleigh Time Trial Special has an EG Bates sticker, I've got an advert from a 1978 Cycling Mag (I think it's a Harogate sepcial edition) showing them for sale........6-8 month wait if memory serves me right !

Here's my Falcon San-Remo in anger in the mid 70's at a hill climb. Running a single chainring and campag stuff..

Here it is now in the garage, Special order delivered by Billy holmes in pink !! as you can see I raced it with Shimano Dura Ace black stuff, you can just see the black downtube shifters LOL

I'll see if I can find the Advert for your raleigh from summertime 1978 :)

Nice to see another Falcon rider. Funny thing is that I also originally rode mine with a Dura Ace black groupset, and it is now fitted with a NOS DA black groupset as I originally raced it. I just don't have photos of it with the DA bits.

I have the original receipt of sale of the Raleigh TT special. This bike is also documented at http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/raleigh-sbdu-builders.html. I have changed the seat as the original could not be set level, fitted new bar tape to prevent further corrosion, and changed the RD to a Campag one (sorry. I still have the original). The frame was originally sold with the TA cranks fitted.

I have just posted pics tonight on Flickr of my Carlton TT Flyer, which has just been built up. This is a much more practical rider than the fragile and super light 753 TT Special.

Is this a bit better on the suffering front then Nick? ........ February 1976, copper plated Woodrup with chrome forks, big holes in the seat post (Engers), houses so It's a Hull Thursday Road Club 10 on Beverly Road, coming to the end and in oxygen debt ...... Change up for the big sprint for the line LOL

That's more like it. But hang on: Hull, February, and ... sun. Something doesn't seem right there. I know 76 was a scorching Summer, but February?

Good to see a younger Dave Lloyd. I used to photograph his bikes back in the 90's... always enjoyed looking at the photos of his past endeavours upon his workshop wall.

Do Peter Hain, Dale Winton and Robert Kilroy-Silk not count [1], then? ;)
