Raleigh 531

Dirt Disciple
Hello all, Im new to this forum so a big hello to all. I am a keen cyclist still doing a bit with a bit of a soft spot for the old steels that I remember racing in the 80,s. I am building a 531 pro Brian Rourke (1984 I think) currently (the bike I coveted as a youngster). I have last week picked up a Raleigh which is complete with Campag groupset, Mavic MA40,s, Cinelli bars and stem with the GOD frame sticker and an SB number on BB. Frame is Reynolds 531 with Reynolds in green and the numbering in red. Turbo saddle is dated 1985 but this could be aftermarket. It has a sloping fork crown (not a lugged crown) and I would love to know a little more about it. It is very unfortunately not my frame size but I would value some direction on it. It is in need of restoration but is complete. Any input to educate me would be greatly appreciated as Im not sure what to do with it and have contemplated taking the groups in place of my Shimano 600 on the rourke but it doesn't seem right to break it. BB no. is SB7703 54 Photos attached. Thanks to all in advance.

Quality frame set . Clean it up using t cut ,avoid getting to much on decals .then use a good wax polish. It's only original once
Price as it's a special products build £300 + frame and forks only
Complete machine. Market is depressed at moment.
Clean all components up . Auto solve works for me
Presentation is the key , to realise its full value .
A sought after machine.

I have been looking for a Panasonic for a few years, settled for a Team but wouldn't mind that if the price was right.
I suppose the question is ....what is the right price? feel free to make an offer for consideration. If it were my size, i would be restoring and riding for sure.

Nice frame. Same livery as the ones the Crane cousins used for Journey to the Centre of the Earth in 1986. Though theirs were 753 reynolds. Date wise it would be mid 80's.

Looking at the SB frame number you have a very early 1986 frame, the other number 74845 is interesting, is there a dot and what's the letter after the letter N, can you post a better picture. 👍
