Raceface Turbine - Ring compatibility?

Just wondered if anyone else on here has had problems sourcing a replacement chainring (middle) for their Turbine's?

I thought as long as the BCD was the same it would be OK, so I ordered a four bolt 104BCD Deore 32T ring, but when I tried to fit it the curvature of the inner ring attachment points were slightly different to that of the spider, so while the holes lined up, there was an unsightly gap in the middle of each arm of the spider where it butted up to the chainring...

Is this normal? Or did I get a dodgy ring? Do you think an FSA would be any better?

Probably not 4 arm jobs, we live in 5 arm world here in the pre'98 club

But rings can do that, if it fits, don't worry and ride it
