I decided recently to splash out on a new front brake for my 'number 1' MTB -- the original has seen a lot of action and is very tired, and rather than the mess and hassle of refurbishing the system, I opted for a new one.
The brake eventually turned up and as ever was a lovely piece of kit -- except that the hose is 2 metres long. The lever / master cylinder is for the right hand, but the hose appears to be for a rear fitting -- maybe for US-style usage.
I contacted the supplier to say I wanted a front brake and had ordered new so as to avoid the hassle and mess of cutting hoses and bleeding, etc. In their reply, the supplier says that "Hope supplies all brakes (front and rear) with 2m hose."
Is this true? I seem to recall, a long time ago, ordering new and getting a more suitable hose length for the front. Any intel would be gratefully received.
