Question on setting up correctly XTR BR-M900

Hi everyone,

I have the above set of cantis I would like to set up but they / I have two issues:

1st: One of the plastic cups is broken (see 1st picture). Am I out of luck or can I use cups from other type of Cantis like XTs of the era? What about repros? If anyone has any lead where I can find replacement cups it would be much appreciated.

2nd: I am a bit puzzled on how to adjust these ones. When I mount them on the frame I have the following two black bumps (see 2nd picture) that are part of the black plastic cups and jump out. The cantis seem to work fine and push back as they should but I am just not sure this is the way to set them up.

Thanks in advance for your help with this!

The stops should be near the bottom, they are only there to stop the canti from swinging under into the wheel.
You need the M900 ones. L goes on the L arm, R goes on the R arm.
No idea on repro,
they are just dirt covers and the stop. You can setup without them iirc.

Your pads are on too far, low profile should not be setup like that, but nearer the end of the stud.
Use A/73 straddles and life will be powerful and an easy setup.

Thanks mate! Quite helpful.

I actually noticed that my set misses this small part:

But I believe this should be easy to find.

I once recall someone here selling these type of washers and screws in titanium for about 30 euros the 4. Anyone recalls this?

For the rest I found on eBay some plastic spring covers that should fit.

It's just a posh washer to go with the nice looking bolt, and any bolt will do.
Some have use brake fender cover thingy before.
30euro for some bolts seems excessive

I also need the small collet washer things too. There was a guy making them on here but he’s vanished now
