Question on Klein Mantra

Currently trying to find the actual head tube length of a 1998 Klein Mantra Comp in size XL. I've reviewed the Klein Mantra manual from oldkleins.com but it didn't call it out specifically. I'm trying to confirm if a Noleen CrossLink ELT fork will work with the longer head tube found on the XL frame. Noleen made them in Regular and Long lengths and the Long is compatible with a head tube up to 160mm but I can't find the actual size anywhere online. The frame is out of state in storage so I can't readily measure it but thought this info should be readily available somewhere. No such luck thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a shot from the 1999 manual: 165mm, I think.



And similar from 2001:


I think the 2001 spec will be the standard Trek/Klein ahead fit bulgy-in-the-middle headtubes, not the weird fat MC1 + 2 inserted stuff, so you'll need to add about 30mm for the headset.

Many thanks Dan! Much appreciated! It looks like Girvin and Noleen are a No Go for the XL Mantra then. Maybe the Look Fournales were compatible. The Noleen "Long" was marketed as "For 135-160mm headtubes length".

Even the XL LOOK Fournales is pushing it if your Klein has an external cupped headset:
The L & XL ones are far easier (and cheaper) to find than smaller ones, though.

Didn't the noleem forks also have a 'way big' size as they put it? Not sure what this equates to but sounds bigger than large?

They may have. I was going off the info they printed on this particular fork's box.
