Q about a Kona Lava Dome 1993

Just bought a veeery close to mint/store specs 93 Lava dome for 1000 NOK (~100GBP).
Only catch is a RS Q 21R, but it's even with some onZa barends thrown in.
Now this is my 6th Kona in collection and appears to be a great addition, but the Q is that the colour is black with a slight purple hint in bright light.
Was this a normal colour back then? Is it hard to find a matching P2?
My "Kona year" starts with 1994 so this is abit out of my league.

This could be a special colour used for some markets, but I haven't heard of it before. These two photos show the standard non-US colour scheme and the white Lava Dome in the US catalogue.
