Purple hater or lover?

Loved it bitd but od'd around 1993 and have not fully recovered so it would have to be subtle on one of my builds these days.

'Hope' blue is they way forward now, lovely. ;)

Gold always was and always will be shoot. Spoils every bike it's put on imo.

I think in moderation it looks good.

Sorry fellers, still not convinced. A nice blue would've gone 10 times better with that white frame, although in your defence that's definitely a late 80's/early 90's look.

Think of it this way. Did neil armstrong have any purple anodized bits on his space suit? No, they were blue and red.

Did Schumacher even win a championship in a car clad with purple alloy bits? No siree.

Was Thrust SSC clad in purple allen bolts? Nope.

It just isn't a manly, purposeful colour that reeks of engineering awesomeness

:D Pace liked purple thats good enough for me

Top pics an original Ex team frame, built back close to the original team build spec as i could :D

F1 cars are completely carbon fibre, so everything's glued, no need for bolts of any colour..

Thrust SSC used titanium and magnesium fastenings, anodising either of them is pointless/impossible..

The three pics of the Pace's up there ^^^ really should close this thread off, with a cool full stop..

In combination with the right frame color purple is a good choice. Actual i use blue parts but only because the frame is a green one. If it would be a yellow one i had chosen purple.

I mock the purple by fitting it to a traditional and subdued bike, right where it has to stare at my bum for hours on end. Purple is nasty.
