Pulstar wheels - recipe for disaster?

Have just spotted a set of Pulstar wheels about to end on ebay. They were going fairly cheap and just about to close enough to pick up so was about to throw a bid in when I spotted the spokes.

Normal spokes used on hubs designed for straight pull hubs. Presumabl they're not going to last very long and the wheel might be lacking on lateral tension?

There was just seconds to go, I ummed, I ahhed, I thought about getting them respoked and then time ran out.

What do you think?

Apart from the spoke elbow going around a square edge, the problem there is you have effectively two different spoke lengths, seen it before and it results in only half the spokes in a loaded area receiving peak loads, shortly after they start snapping.

They should have straight pull spokes fitted, Pulstar hubs are fine as long as the wheels are built well. Marwi do suitable replacement spokes.
