can anyone recommend a place to stay in puerto pollensa this coming march/ april?

web links etc would be really helpful.

many thanks,

craig

this won't be much help to you, but Pollensa old town inland is much nicer, and only a few miles ride from the coast.
I've stayed there a few times with the family, always rented from Villa Parade but there are loads of places to rent somewhere to stay from, and Cycling Weekly always has the many adverts at the back for cyclist-friendly accomodation in port de pollensa.

was it you interested in time equipe pro cleats? i'm speaking to the chap i think has stock in the next week or so, let me know.
richie

thanks for that, richie - i really don't know the area at all and reliable pointers are always a help.

it was the original time tbt cleats that i was looking for and luckily enough one chap on this forum sold me a pair of the forward fixing cleats. i still need a pair of the rear bronze coloured ones if you can help out?

cheers,

craig

hi Craig,
Pollensa's a great place, good restaurants and bars and everybody speaks English (my Spanish is very poor!).
Did you get plastic or alloy front cleats? I'm wondering if I can get a 3d scan of a new pair and have them printed.
I have some of the brass rear plates if you're interested, new with the fixings. £6 posted ok for you?
Richie

Depending what you want, Alcudia is just down the road. Its bigger, busier, more lively nightlife and if you're taking the wife and kids much better as its a family resort. If you're not with kids (or find them annoying), Pollensa is probably better for you.

hi richie,

thanks for the information on pollensa. yes, it sounds more like our kind of place as we really want it for cycling and nothing more. saying that, the price is always a big factor!! ideally we'd like to arrange bike hire and have them delivered to the hotel/ apartment etc. i was over in can picafort a few years ago in the middle of summer and hired a bike but it was far too hot to cycle during the day

i'd be interested in those rear cleats if they haven't been used. if that's the case could you pm me with your paypal or bank details and i'll get the money off to you. it was the front ones in alloy that i managed to get a hold of thanks to a fellow retrobiker on this forum.

any idea how far is it from pollensa until you hit the mountains?

many thanks,

craig

We've used the aparthotel duva for the last couple of years. Stopping in the apartments, there are hotel facilities on the same site and its not that bad. Not exactly 5 star, but it's clean, the staff are friendly and storing bikes in the apartments didn't raise any eyebrows

thanks for your suggestions, chaps. we went to thomson's of all places and got the lot sorted out. they were serving up fizzy wine which of course put everyone in a great mood and no doubt helped their sales figures too!

can anyone recommend a pollensa based bike hire place that i can book online?

thanks

craig

Probikehire is the bike hire place of choice for the guys we go out with.
Think they do have Internet booking, but it's worth giving them a call anyway, they all speak English. (The owner is English!)
