Seen this old Puch Road Racer for sale but don't know anything about the make, any information about this bike or brand out there?

Most of the Puchs I've seen have been lower end bikes with lower end components. That said, I find them easy on the eye and there seem to be a good number that have survived in good condition. For a beater bike, I think it's hard to go wrong for the price you can pick them up for - way less than the equivalent lower end Raleighs and Peugeots.

check the rear drop outs as the basic ones have a very agriculture looking style ones
