Puch Aspid = Bianchi Theridon?

Well, this is all genuinely interesting but I'm still very confused! Was Puch just using Bianchi frames? These components are Deore LX so it doesn't seem to be a cheaper knockoff in terms of components, at least

Why are you surprised? It was and is a common thing to rebrand frames. No biggie.
I mean, just look at the Weissach bike spyder. Very pricy bike bitd. Specialized frame. Or the Sakae Litage, which was sold as a bianchi NTH and under several other brands. Or the Alfton Taiwan made made Aluminium frames.

A friend said this:
"Piaggio (which owned Bianchi at that time) took over the bicycle and motorbike division of puch in the eighties (i think '87). The wicked frame of the theridion etc. Was originally designed by puch. The bike in the picture is pre piaggio takeover.
There are Puch-Branded bikes again, but the manufacturer just bought the brand has nothing to do with the original Company."
Thoughts guys?
