Pub bike, large, posted or Colchester/B'mouth

Next week I'm coming back to the UK after 4 years working in NZ. I need a cheap pub bike pretty much pronto. I've got a pretty big list of demands as you can see :shock: rather than the usual ebay offerings has anyone on here got something? Fat tyres and mudguards are good, singlespeed preferable.

My budget's about 250, but the cheaper the better (well, no Townsend Aardvarks, not that cheap).

What is the smallest frame you could go to?

I have a lovely Trek 700 Multitrack I've just finished refurbing mechanically with a few better bits bunged on it. Happy to post and a lot cheaper than your max. Has gears though and 700c wheels.

Hi, thank you - my MTBs are usually 19" (modern hardtails that is).
What that compares to on an old MTB... I'm not sure.
