I forgot to mention, I've heard bad things about using oil. It softens the leather too much and it stretches out of shape. And you get an oily bum. Stick with wax or saddle soap to be on the safe side.

Neatsfoot oil is a by product of meat production so not suitable if you are a Vegetarian or Vegan.

I realised that what I said was a bit daft. If you a Vegan or Vegetarian you probably wouldn't have a leather saddle to begin with.

I've used dubbin over the years, then Proofide after getting a new Brooks. The Proofide seems to shine up a little better, but the dubbin worked fine at waterproofing (I also use it on all other leather topped saddles).
