Project Ibis Mojo 1 of the 3 wise men brings gift.

Re: Project Ibis Mojo

Here you go mate. Cant remember the full spec but the pics should help. The wheelset is dt240s hubs on ZTR rims with aerolite spokes. The first pics are when i first built it in Guinness foam and took it to Spain. Then the later pics are when I did the lightening,i had the frame dipped in white carbon and the rear triangle black carbon. The parts from the slr were added and the lighter spec stuff. When I took it back to spain it weighed in at the airport in a bike bag at 11.7kg.

Keep at it if you want yours light as it is possible, but be careful you dont lose the character of the bike where it gets too skittish ;-)

Formula r1 and possibly related callipers will rub on the hope hollow rivets, its a wideky known problem.

I am not aware of any other calliper with this problrm, i am using avid cr and avid xx, not sure if i tried them with xtr but coukd find out easily enough.

... zo as long as the kcnc razors worth for is what matters.

Re: Project Ibis Mojo

Small update. These arrived from Slik exerlent quality as usual from them.
Custom colour to match the frame, also rim decals took abit longer to make.

Start of the removal of the old decals.

The old decals wasn't the easiest to remove as the backing didn't peel of with the decal.
Once removed all the glue noticed that the paint was quite faded. Was quite bad in the light compared to the photo.

So out comes my Das -6 with some compound and glaze managed this.

Came up like gloss only problem had to do the upper brace by hand as there was a 2 tone effect going on.
All done and waxed ready for the application of the fresh decals.

Now for the wheels. Only pic I've got at the mo but they do match the frame quite nice.

More to follow.

Re: Project Ibis Mojo

Great progress on those forks, they're looking brand new, wouldn't worry about the 2 tone effect as nobody will notice if you don't point it out or when you're blasting past them ;-)

Re: Project Ibis Mojo. Post man been :)

blimey - you won the loteery?!?!?! some nice stuff there, the x10sl chain will work and save a few g.

also you can replace the bolts on the xtr clamps and body for alloy, colour of your choice and lighter too/

ps my l frame mojo 3x9 is 10.96 kg, inc pedals - looks like you are heading to beat that.

Re: Project Ibis Mojo. Post man been :)

Thanks had a few ££ saved in the PayPal so thought I'd splurge on sum bling.

Pics of your mojo bud ain't seen it yet!

Got some more light weight stuff on route hopefully should arrive by sat fingers crossed.
Weight at the mo I couldn't tell you as my scales requires batteries. It certainly feels a lot lighter though ;)
