A rare Proflex 957, and even more rare in small.

Well spotted, any pictures of yours and do you know if any other rear shock will fit other than the NR2?

The small uses a special notched NR2. You can get it rebuilt at J6Noleen in Hesperia, Ca.

What I did was source an NR1 and clearance the hole in the toptube. I did that because the original shock was unrebuildable.

A Risse shock won't work unless the mounting plates are widened.

Here is the link for J6Noleen. https://j6shocks.com/Mountain_Bike_Services.html

Somone cycled past me and the Mrs on a proflex with girvin's this evening on the canal tow path. . . small world

proflex

Heres my 752 its in many many pieces ready for an overhaul and some new paint the only things on it that doesn't need work is the forks and Stem, BB is knackered as is the headset the rear forks are rusted and the elastomers are long gone replaced with crumbling landrover bushs
I like a challenge !!
the rear swing-arm is going to be black when i'm finished to match the F & R forks think this will look better than the silver it was originally
