proflex love!!!

Yes apart from brake levers & shifters it seemed all original, but I'm not one for keeping factory spec if there are better parts out there, back in "the day" I would have upgraded parts so I just do the same now.

I think that the Proflex's still have "It", even when parked up next to my friends far more modern and exotic machinery 8/10 times people are drawn to the Proflex, either to say "bloody hell!! I remember them!!" or "what's that? I've never seen one of those before".

This is mine although it's very different now, especially as both shocks are removed!

Well spotted, any pictures of yours and do you know if any other rear shock will fit other than the NR2?

There is a Riece (spelt wrong prob) shock that was made in the 90's for them, hard to find and expensive now.

I've seen fox shox adapted and put on vectors before, god no's how you'd go about that though, a lot of drilling and trial & error I'm gussingm

Proflex's definatly still have it, even my Animal that was designed to be a DH bike climbs well.
I was going to build this new frame I'm getting as a possible replacment for my Trek (2009 modern) that I use as my regular ride.
Partly because like you say it would grap a lot of attention and be a bit differnt.
Also because I've never riden a full sus that climbs like these bikes.
But realy it because I don't have the funds to do it up to origional spec yet :)

Oh, liking that.
The old ones have got somthing about them.
Melted sponges I see though :(
Have you tried a black seat on it to see how that looks.

Well, it is now in the 'half-dismantled-don't-know-what-to-do-with-it-and-no-more-space-in-the-shed' zone, along with some other unfortunate bikes and a chair.
So I don't know when or if this is going to be build again by me.
I have to agree to liking the early ones, these are still simple in design.
