That's a good deal then, you got a free upgrade then! When I got my dads old raleigh dyna 92 passed on to me back in the mid 90's, I jumped it a bit (teenage ignorance) an of corse the down tube came out the head tube, got a brand new frame for that, didn't mention the jumping part though ;)

How does my name appear to every one then, on my blackberry it appears as- pro'yellow sponge'& . But I put it in as pro'yellow sponge'flex?

Yeah, the 852 was all they had at the time, was a different colour, 752 was red, 852 was grey/silver, 752 was full DX equipped 852 would have been XT.

They replaced it due to the BB running loose and buggering the threads in the frame.

Your name shows as pro"yellow sponge&

Has anyone seen this months MBR (Aug 2011) the £100 challenge on page 94?
Basically, they've been given £100 to buy whatever bike they want and then have to carry out various challenges.. (can't think which car show they got that idea from....)
Anyway, one of the journos got himself a Proflex 857 expert.. looks quite original to me, with carbon swingarm, no vector forks though.. all over, its in a good working condition.
He's claiming that he bought it off E bay for £49.00 !
Now, I know Proflexes don't fetch a deal on E bay, but £49.00 seems ridiculously cheap to me.. I've never seen one that cheap on E bay before..

Sounds like a bit of journalistic licence, never let the truith stand in the way of a good story etc :)

Though it could have been collect only in some hard to get to area (keeping the bids low) and cost him £200 in fuel to collect it.

I've been looking out for a 857 for literaly a year at least an they never sell for less then 150 complete (any condition/spec).
I did win a 857 frame that was badly advertised a week ago for £50 inc postage, but that's taken a long time of dedicated searching!!!
I'd like to no when they saw that coz I some how missed it :)

I bought a near mint 857 frame in Way Big a couple of years ago for £50 posted off Singletrackworld

That's a good price for a minter.
I can't tell what the one I've won is going to be like appart from its in grape not red, due to crap pics, I just took a punt on it.
Has got a few parts hung on the frame still though, again don't no what parts yet.
He's assured me its being posted today so ill try and chuck a pic or two up when it arrives.....
