Retro Newbie
Partly built-up lovely old carbon Proflex offered for sale as shown in the photos, or will split if sufficient interest.

Various pics here http://s383.beta.photobucket.com/user/a ... 9029175091

Proflex / K2 5500c carbon frame, I'm guessing Medium size as the standover is fine with my 31/32" inside leg (it measures 19.5" from centre of bb to top of carbon seat tube.

Risse racing shock in good order, slight play in lower mounting point. Original Risse shock pump. Syncros headset and newly replaced bb.

Pace gold nitrided RC36 forks with carbon bridges, stantions good with slight wear back to a silver colour at the bottom of one of them. Steerer tube is 1 1/8" and measures 217mm to the top cap of headset. Spare springs, with the box labelled Hard (9.6Nm).

XTR brakes, although I think one of the rear assemblies is incomplete. Rapidfire shifters marked Shimano but I can't see any other marking

FC-MC36 175mm cranks, 8-spd casssette

Outland stem and flat System Components 6061 bar

Front and rear mech and chain, not sure what spec

Plus a couple of things that aren't in character with the bike:
New Brand-X wheels with High Roller and Speed King tyres
Push seatpost and Selle Royal Blast gel seat

Asking £250, collected from South Cambridge / M11, or might be able to deliver depending on where you are.

The closest I've been able to find is a 4500c frame with Vanilla RC shock sold for £280 last year (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Proflex-4500- ... true&rt=nc). Also a tidy 4500c frame with Noleen NR2 shock went for £498 earlier this year (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 8467759957)

Sold to Jonny (dirtydozen).

Story behind this one is that a pal owned it from new (£1200 for the frame back in the day!!) and sold it to me in bits 5yrs ago. The idea was to build it up and give it a try as my first full suspension bike. I never got round to it and stuck to my hardtail for the marathon xc events that I do, squeezed in around a busy triathlon season. I now need a clearout to make space so it's good to see it go to someone who'll make good use of it.

cheers
Andy
